  • Low fat crème fraiche
  • Honey

  2. Stir in the butter and the blueberries.
  3. Pour a little oil into a warm non-stick pan and spoon in the batter a little at a time. (There should be space for about 3 or 4 at a time depending how big you want them!) Allow the pancake to cook for 3 minutes then flip over with a spatula, another 2 minutes should give you beautiful golden pancakes. Lift out onto a plate and cover to keep warm while you make the rest of the pancakes.

Members of the South African Police Service together with other law enforcement agencies launched the 2019/2020 Safer Festive Season Operations on Friday, 25 October.

The Safer Festive Season Operations will be conducted under the theme Zizojika Izinto – turning the tide against crime.  The Community of Amanzimtoti, Bhekithemba, Folweni, KwaMakhutha, Isipingo, Umbumbulu, Umkomaas and Umlazi was invited to attend the national safety launch.

During the launch of the Safer Festive Season Operations SAPS, together with Vodacom officially launched a SAPS App called MySAPS mobile app.

The new app will allow citizens to interact with law enforcement officials more effectively by:

  • Providing tip-offs anonymously through the app
  • Finding nearest police stations and facilities
  • Allowing a victim of crime to send messages instantly during an emergency.
  • Also coupled with this launch will be the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the SAPS and the Department of Tourism ahead of the busy festive season.

Commenting on the launch of the operation, National Police spokesperson Brig Vish Naidoo said, “The operations began on Tuesday, 15 October, but was officially launched on Friday, 25 October.  This operation will see visible policing during peak periods such as weekends and the days closer to the festive season.  We are committed to monitoring unlicensed firearms, drugs and crimes against women and children.  High density tourist areas such as beaches and parks will also be closely monitored.  SAPS together with other law enforcement officials have a zero tolerance approach to drinking and driving, speeding and un-roadworthy vehicles, which will remain to avoid carnages on our roads this festive season.”

Amanzimtoti SAPS together with other law enforcement agencies, armed response units, community policing forum/sub-forums and  neighbourhood watch groups, will embark on various operations to combat crime and keep the community and holiday makers safe.

Some of the operations to be conducted:

  • Stop and search
  • Foot patrols along beaches and shopping malls
  • Road blocks and vehicle check points
  • Suspect raids by detectives
