Talented duo adds glitz to latest production

Get your tickets for the show which promises to provide spectacular entertainment.

It’s glitzy and glamorous – it’s Ian von Memerty, together with his ‘better half’ Vivienne in their latest production ‘Putting on the Glitz’, which comes to the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre on the UKZN campus from 3 to 7 April.

Returning to Durban by popular demand, Ian von Memerty, who is renowned for his ‘A Handful of Keys’ and ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ roles, and his wife Vivienne, a former SA national Latin and ballroom champion, are putting on a short season of six shows which promises to be pure spectacular entertainment.

As they have developed and extended their repertoire as guest artists on luxury liners, they have a treasure chest bursting full of fantastic, fun, family-friendly quality material.

From their ‘African Elegance Show’ they take the audience on a musical tour of South Africa from ‘Waka Waka’ to ‘Pata Pata’: from ‘Homeless’ to ‘Hope Joanna’: from ‘Los Lappie’ to ‘Lakushone Langa’. Music that grabs you by the heart and rhythms that will get you jiving in your seat.

And from ‘A Touch of Class’ they put you in ‘The Mood’ with some sequined style as they are ‘Putting On The Ritz’, to the sultry sizzle of ‘Sway’ and ‘The Samba’, and the showbiz showstopper ‘Never Had A Friend Like Me’, as well as the powerful poignancy of ‘Bojangles’ and ‘Memory’.

Wrap all this up in dazzling costumes, lithe and lovely choreography, and loads of laughter and you have escapist entertainment that will lift your spirits like a luxury cruise. Booking through Computicket or pay cash at the door. Tickets cost between R145 and R160, with discounts for pensioners.
