What's happening in Toti this month?

FRIDAY, 1 MARCH: Probus members should note the next meeting will be held at Amanzimtoti Bowling Club at 9.20am for 10am as the Umbogovango Nature Reserve site is undergoing an upgrade and necessary repairs. Take your meat and salads for the braai after the meeting, drinks to be purchased at the bar. Contact the secretary Cliff Hole on 076-542-5082 for information.

 

SATURDAY, 2 MARCH: Kingsburgh Lions holds its fleamarket at St Mary’s Anglican Church, 157 Kingsway, Warner Beach from 7am to 11am. There are plenty of bargains for everyone and also delicious vetkoek and pancakes on sale. Call Sonia on 072-761-1610.

 

SATURDAY, 2 MARCH: A showcase artist from Durban, Julia Forman (Guilia) will do a walk-around, explaining her art at the Art in Kingsway Gallery. This is a open invitation to all to join in at 458 Andrew Zondo/Kingsway from 11am to 11.30am.

 

SATURDAY, 2 MARCH: Toti SPCA hosts its monthly cake sale on the first Saturday of every month at the Nyati Road premises. Donations of baked goods are always welcome to raise money. There will also be a half price clothing sale. The community is urged to support this worthy cause.

 

SUNDAY, 3 MARCH: Amanzimtoti’s partially sighted and blind bowlers are urged to attend the Visually Impaired Bowlers Association’s weekly bowling afternoon at Berea Bowling Club in Durban every Sunday from 1pm to 4pm. Blind and partially sighted people who are prepared to join this association can look forward to an afternoon of fun and fellowship playing bowls. MONDAY, 4 MARCH: The next Cottage Patch Quilters Guild meeting will be held at 9.15am in the Toti Methodist Church hall, Dingwall Road until such time as the library activities room is available again. All welcome to attend. For enquiries call Janet on 072-610-5702.

 

TUESDAY, 5 MARCH: St Winifreds Methodist Church, Morton Road, Warner Beach celebrates Shrove Tuesday by selling pancakes at the church hall between 5pm to 7pm. Enjoy some delicious home-made pancakes.

 

THURSDAY, 21 MARCH: The next full moon beach walk takes place from Baggies Warner Beach at 6pm. This walk is to Winkle beach and back. All are welcome to join in. Dogs must be on leads. For more information call Yvonne on 074-190-0949.

 

Check your mate over chess

CHESS players meet on alternate Wednesdays at either Kingsburgh library or Amanzimtoti library.

There is no charge. The time will be decided to suit the players.

All levels of chess players, from beginners to advanced, are welcome.

Lions host health checks

KINGSBURGH Lions Club hosts its next health testing session on Saturday, 9 March.

Every second Saturday of the month, from 10.30am to 12.30pm, Kingsburgh Lions Club hosts free blood pressure and diabetes testing at Pick ’n Pay Arbour Crossing.
