Pom-pom Christmas crafts
Struggling to find ways to keep the little ones, and not so little ones, busy this festive season? Well don’t despair, we have a few crafts to keep them entertained.
Pom-pom baubles
These baubles are a great way to spend time with the kids and keep them busy during the school holidays.
You will need:
- Styrofoam ball.
- Pom-poms.
- Pins.
- Ribbon.
- Twine.
What to do:
This craft is as simple as can be.
Push stick pins through pom-poms and stick them into the Styrofoam ball.
Once you have completely covered the ball, use a glue gun to glue the twine so you can hang the ball onto your tree. Tie the ribbon in a bow around the twine, near the pom poms, to give it a finishing touch.
Pom-pom wreath
This craft is much quicker than making the pom-pom baubles.
You will need:
- Wire.
- Wire cutters.
- Pom-poms.
- Ribbon.
- Twine.
What to do:
Cut a small hoop of wire and thread the pom-poms onto the wire.
To close the hoop make a loop on one side of the wire, then loop the other side and twist them, make sure your pom-poms cover this part.
Tie the twine around the wire, between two pom-poms. Using the ribbon make a bow around the bottom of the twine.
Hang your wreath on your tree.
Pom- pom Christmas tree
Your pom-pom decorations would not be complete without a pom-pom Christmas tree.
You will need:
- Popsicle sticks.
- Glue.
- Pom-poms.
- Ribbon.
What to do:
Using one of the Popsicle sticks as your base, glue shorter pieces horizontally across the stick.
Start with a longer one mid-way up the base and cut the others shorter and shorter until you are about 1.5cm from the top of the base.
Glue the pom-poms across these pieces. Glue the ribbon on the back of the base and hang your pom-pom tree on your Christmas tree.
