Diarise Mooi Hawens charity fundraiser date

The Mooi Hawens fete will host lots of activities and interesting stalls to browse through.

Mooi Hawens Retirement Home hosts a charity fundraiser on 8 December to support the elderly. “Join in the fun and support older persons’ care at the same time,” said fete co-ordinator, Heilie van der Merwe.

The day kicks off with a three mile run or stroll from 7am to 9am at Mooi Hawens, 3 Middleton Road in Winklespruit. The cost is R20 per person, while children under 13 free.

“Enjoy the Mooi Hawens fete for the rest of the day, which will host lots of activities and interesting stalls to browse through,” said Heilie. Book a farmhouse breakfast at a cost of R35. The fete opens at 7am with a tea garden and beer garden.

At 9am enter a singing competition, with lots of fantastic prizes on offer. At 11am enjoy watching the little ones strut their stuff in the Miss, Mr and Mrs Mooi beauty pageant which takes centre stage in the Mooi Hawens hall. Age groups include: Miss Petal – three to five-years-old; Miss Tiny Teen – six to nine-years-old; Miss Teen – 10 to 13-years-old; Miss Junior 14 to 17-years-old; Miss 18 to 24-years-old; Mr Male Junior – three to 17-years-old; Male Senior – 18 to 24-years-old; King and Queen – 25-years and older. The dress codes for three to five-year-olds is fairies and elves; six to nine-years-old, prince and princesses; 10-years and older, smart casual.

The entry fee for three to nine-year-old is R100; 10-years and older, R150. To watch the pageant, the entry cost is R20 per person for 10-years and older. Rules and regulations do apply, which can be found on the entry forms. Registration is from 8.30am.
