WEDNESDAY, 28 FEBRUARY: 21 Club St Valentine’s luncheon at noon for 12.30pm in the conference room at Lords and Legends. Décor colours are the traditional red, black and white. The club looks forward to hosting speaker, Air Force Colonel (retired) Steve Bekker. Confirmation to attend or not must be received by the relevant committee members by Friday, 23 February. Guests, who must be invited by a member, will be accommodated if there is room. Members are reminded that subscription fees are due.

 

THURSDAY, 1 MARCH: 5pm. Burgers and bowls evening at Amanzimtoti Bowling Club. Bowlers and non-bowlers are welcome. Cost is R20 for an one-hour game and R30 for a chicken or beef build-a-burger. Afterwards relax to music on the club veranda. Bowls and coaching will be available. Simply wear smooth soled takkies or sandals. Registration by 5.15pm for 5.30pm start. DISTRICT five libraries, combined with Amanzimtoti Sports Centre, will host a five kilometre fun run on Tuesday, 13 March to promote the ‘One City One Book’ programme.

The book chosen for this year’s programme is ‘The Pavement Bookworm’ by Philani Dladla.

“We would appreciate it if the community can participate in this fun run at Hutchison Park from 8.30am,” said librarian Slindile Mosia.

Entry is free and the closing date for registration is Friday, 2 March at Amanzimtoti library.

KINGSBURGH Lions Club hosts its next health testing session on Saturday, 10 March.

Every second Saturday of the month, between 10am and noon, Kingsburgh Lions Club hosts free blood pressure and diabetes testing at Pick ’n Pay Arbour Crossing.

THE Mountain Backpackers’ Club invites anyone interested in backpacking who would like some hints and tips, to attend its new members’ evening to be held at Sherwood Bowling Club on Thursday evening, 22 February at 6.30pm.

SECTOR two police forum’s annual general meeting will be held on Wednesday, 14 March from 6pm.

The meeting takes place at Warner Beach Senior Prep School.
