SATURDAY, 10 FEBRUARY: Have you ever played barflies bowls or are you a new bowler who has never played ‘tabs-in’? If so, enter Toti Bowling Club’s ‘new bowler singles challenge’ which starts at 8.30am. Winner gets R700; runner-up R300. SUNDAY, 11 FEBRUARY: Toti Ramblers will be rambling at the Umdoni Nature Reserve in Pennington. Meet at Lords and Legends at 7am to arrange transport. Picnic tea after walk. For queries contact Eileen on 073-436-0144.

 

MONDAY, 12 FEBRUARY: The first SAARP meeting of 2018 is from 9.30am to about 11.30am in the activities room at Amanzimtoti library. Anyone 50 years of age and older is welcome to visit. Meetings are held monthly. Call or message Maureen on 031-903-4182 or on 082-436-9281.

 

MONDAY, 12 FEBRUARY: South African Associations of Retired Persons (SAARP) meets in the activities room at Toti Library on from 9.30am to 11.30am. Go and enjoy a fun quiz morning and get to know any new members. There are great ‘prizes’ to be won by the winning team. All over 50s are welcome. TUESDAY, 13 FEBRUARY: All women are welcome to attend the next meeting of Amanzimtoti Women’s Institute which takes place in the activities room next to the library at Toti Civic Centre. The meeting commences at 9.15am. Members and visitors are welcome to share a morning of fellowship as well as tea and cake. For details, call Yvonne Dixie on 031-903-1942 or 074-190-0949.

 

WEDNESDAY, 14 FEBRUARY: Kingsway Cancer Group meets at Kingsway Hospital’s oncology ward at 4pm. The group meets on the second Wednesday of every month, there is no attendance charge and cancer survivors and or carers are always welcome to attend. SATURDAY, 17 FEBRUARY: Jewish Mekudeshet at Grace Baptist Church starting at 10am for prayers. Teaching at 11am. A plate of snacks for fellowship tea afterwards will be appreciated. For further information, call Roger on 071-497-1804.

 

WEDNESDAY, 28 FEBRUARY: 21 Club St Valentine’s luncheon at noon for 12.30pm in the conference room at Lords and Legends. Décor colours are the traditional red, black and white. The club looks forward to hosting the speaker, Air Force Colonel (retired) Steve Bekker. Confirmation to attend or not must be received by the relevant committee members by Friday, 23 February. Guests, who must be invited by a member, will be accommodated if there is room. Members are reminded that subscription fees are due.

Lions host health checks

KINGSBURGH Lions Club hosts its next health testing session on Saturday, 10 February.

Every second Saturday of the month, between 10am and noon, Kingsburgh Lions Club hosts free blood pressure and diabetes testing at Pick ’n Pay Arbour Crossing.

 

Learn to play bridge

Cross over from being a non-player to a happy, relaxed social bridge player.

Get packing to info session

THE Mountain Backpackers’ Club invites anyone interested in backpacking who would like some hints and tips, to attend its new members’ evening to be held at Sherwood Bowling Club on Thursday evening, 22 February at 6.30pm.
