SATURDAY, 21 OCTOBER: Jewish Mekudeshet meeting to be held at St Mary’s Church in Warner Beach, starting at 11am. A plate of snacks for fellowship tea afterwards will be appreciated. For further information, call Roger on 071-497-1804.

 

WEDNESDAY, 25 OCTOBER: The 21 Club AGM takes place at 11.30am for noon at Lords and Legends conference room. This will be followed by a luncheon, themed ‘birds of a feather flock together’. Wear bright colours for fun and games. Women on the waiting list and guests are welcome to attend the AGM but obviously will have no vote. Members should diarise 29 November for the Christmas luncheon.

 

SUNDAY, 5 NOVEMBER to SUNDAY, 12 NOVEMBER: Trailing the Trappists art exhibition in St Anne’s hall at Mariannhill Monastery. The exhibition is open from noon to 3pm on weekdays and 10am to 4pm on weekends. The paintings on display can be viewed on the Facebook page ‘Trailing the Trappists’. FRIDAY, 7 DECEMBER: Probus Amanzimtoti Social Club’s Spring meeting takes place on at 9.30am for 10am in the tranquil surroundings of the Umbogavango Nature Reserve in Umbogintwini. An interesting speaker will be provided. For the bring-and-braai afterwards, take your own cups, meat, salads and refreshments. Interested visitors are asked to call Sharon-Ann Theron during working hours on 083-312-5360. New members and visitors should check their names on the gate security list to ensure access to the reserve.

SUNDAY, 10 DECEMBER: Illovo Helping Hands Society holds its 37th annual day for senior citizens including those suffering with cardio, renal and cancer-related health problems, starting at 9.30am at Illovo grounds. All former Illovo residents and former educators of Illovo Primary are invited to attend. Join for a fun-filled day. Sponsors are welcome to support this event. Every second Saturday of the month, between 10am and noon, Kingsburgh Lions hosts free blood pressure and diabetes testing at Pick and Pay Arbour Crossing. The next testing will be on Saturday, 11 November.
