Support Amanzimtoti musos bid to #BeTheBand
The band is competing against five other acts.
Amanzimtoti party animals are urged to get to Galleria Mall on Saturday, 9 September to cheer on local band, The Remedy Project.
The band is competing against five other acts to win an opportunity to perform alongside the likes of Mango Groove, award-winning singing duo Mafikizolo, music legends Ladysmith Black Mambazo and alternative rock band Gangs of Ballet.
Each band gets to wow the crowd with five or six songs original and cover songs as part of the finals of the mall’s ‘Be the Band’ competition.
“We are so exited, but for the band to win this unique opportunity in a cut-throat industry, we need as many people as we can get to come cheer them on,” said band manager, Linda Hide.
The Remedy Project is made up of Sheldon de St Pern (vocals), who appeared in this year’s season two of The Voice SA, Greg van Vuuren (lead guitarist and backing vocalist), Garth Ross (bass guitar) and Luke Allen (drums) and their sound is described as melodic pop and rock.

The two new band members, Luke and Garth, have added a great deal of value to the band with their years of experience and a passion for great, original music. The band was formed about two-and-a-half years ago, with a few changes here and there but like most bands, The Remedy Project is growing from strength to strength.
“A lot of Toti people know how good Sheldon is as a solo artist, but as a band you need to be there to see just how awesome they are. Up to now Sheldon has been the main song writer, but with the latest additions of Garth and Luke, we can look forward to some new material,” said Linda.
“Greg has also recently brought some awesome writing skills to the fore, so we can look forward to them combining their talents to bring out some amazing new songs.

It’s going to be a tough competition, because we are up against five other acts and their fans will be there to cheer them on, so please come and support us.”
The event starts at 4.45pm and The Remedy Project is scheduled to play at 5pm. Entry is free at Galleria Mall’s entrance 5 on the first floor.
