Scottburgh Classic Car Show calls back the past
Music from the 50s and 60s will create an atmosphere from yesteryear
ALTHOUGH Ford automobiles will be the featured marque at this year’s Scottburgh Classic Car Show, all pre-1975 classic cars will be welcome when the polished vehicles line up at Scottburgh High on Sunday, 16 July.
This annual charity event will be held at the high school.
There is no need for individual exhibitors to register but all official car clubs must notify the organisers to guarantee their position on the showfield.
Over 400 classic cars and motorbikes are expected to converge in this extravaganza of nostalgia and a special place is reserved on a hard surface next to the showfield for modern bike visitors.
There will be several moving parades including the ‘fun and fashion’ parade which will provide glamour and amusing entertainment for all. Music from the 50s and 60s will create an atmosphere from yesteryear that will bring back happy memories of bygone years.
A large variety of food will be available as well as a beer tent. Relax beneath shady trees in the unique Ilala tea garden overlooking the show while enjoying delicious home-made cakes and sandwiches.
Gates open for classic cars from 7.30am and for visitors from 9am. Visitors will be impressed that there are no steps to walk down this year. Visitors’ entrance fees have remained unchanged for the past seven years at R30 adults, R10 pensioners and scholars, children under 12 free.
