Rev your motor for Amanzimtoti motorcycle fundraiser

The day will feature fun and games, exciting prizes and craft stalls.

Roadhogs Durban Motorcycle Club hosts its first fundraiser event at Umsinsi Adventures in Amanzimtoti on Saturday, 13 May as part of its charity birthday bash.

“The goal of the event is to raise funds or collect food, clothing and donations for Angels Care KZN, a shelter for needy adults, elderly, disabled, abused and homeless members of society,” said Roadhogs president, Koot Nel.

“They are based in Ifafa Beach on the South Coast.”

The Roadhogs Motorcycle Club was established in 1978 and has grown into one of the longest-standing clubs in South Africa.

“The club is focused on supporting and donating to selected charities within the jurisdiction of our organised events,” said Nel.

“We ask for support from the local community to assist us to make the event a success and to be able to continue it on a yearly basis. Please bring any non-perishable food or unwanted clothing to donate.”

Angels Care looks after needy adults, elderly, disabled, abused and homeless members of society. Its youngest resident is six-months-old and eldest 86-years-old.

Its priority needs are:

* Urgent need of food – food vouchers can be purchased from most large stores if desired.

* Donations can also be made to Harbourview Spar for food or other necessities.

* Donations for petrol as staff need to make several trips a week to the health, social welfare centres, work places and colledonations.

* Donations for electricity.

* Donations for building maintenance and the building of new rooms.

* Paint for existing buildings.

* Additional ablution blocks.

* Donations for another vehicle or vehicle maintenance.

* Donations for daily medicine, plus a first aid kit.
