Botsoc presents tranquil garden tours

Take along a walking stick, binoculars and good walking shoes to fully enjoy this exceptional garden.

ON Saturday, 25 February the KZN coastal branch of BotSoc presents tranquil garden tours of eKuthuleni (‘peaceful place’) in Forest Hills, Kloof.

Helen Terblanche’s indigenous garden is beautifully landscaped and in the outer areas blends naturally through a grassland and forest with Krantzkloof Nature Reserve, which it borders.

Bushbuck, duiker, genets, caracal, porcupine, water and slender mongoose call this their home. Crowned eagle and narina trogon are just two of the special bird species that can be seen.

A tree plantation in 1985, in 2016 this two-acre plot was deservedly named ‘garden of the year’ by the Association of Garden Judges, so don’t miss this chance to see it.

Take along a walking stick, binoculars and good walking shoes to fully enjoy this exceptional garden.

Helen will lead tours around the garden starting promptly at 9am, 11am and 2pm respectively.

Booking and pre-payment are essential. BotSoc members pay R55; non-members R65; children under 12 R35. The price includes tea and cake. All proceeds go to BotSoc branch projects.

Numbers are limited to 20 people per tour. To book, email botsoc-kzn@mweb.co.za or call 031-201-5111 on Mondays and Thursdays from 10am to 4pm or cell 071-869-3693.
