Tree switch on postponed

The tree is located at the southern end of the Toti promenade, next to the lagoon.

Due to inclement weather last weekend, the lights on Toti’s gigantic Christmas tree will be switched on at sunset on Thursday, 15 December at about 6pm or 7pm.

The Christmas market which was due to take place on the promenade at the weekend, unfortunately cannot be scheduled for another date.

The tree is located at the southern end of the Toti promenade, next to the lagoon. The 15-metre Christmas tree, arguably the tallest in KZN if not South Africa, is lit by a kilometre of LED lights, mounted on a cellphone tower base and secured by a 4.5-ton foundation.

Turning Point – Amanzimtoti’s ‘Say No To Violence’ graffiti project that was to take place on the promenade near Rogies Park on Saturday was also postponed due to rain and will take place in the new year. Turning Point thanks the following sponsors: Dafco, Seabreeze Build-It, Ai Yellow – Amarillas Internet Corporation and Amanda’s Coffee Shop.
