Hip hop artist brings music to Inkwali

Bayanda needs a stage sponsored. If anyone can help, call him on 073-113-0006.

Inkwali hip hop artist, Bayanda Mzimela, AKA Tyraqeed Kid, hosts a free music event for the community on Saturday, 3 December at Mashiwase sports ground.

“It’s the first of what will hopefully become an annual music festival, where every youngster will get a chance to showcase their talent,” said Bayanda, who has been riding the huge success of his first single ‘Napha Napha’ which was released in May.

The single was playlisted on Yarona FM, one of the radio stations with the largest followings in Botswana. He was interviewed by the radio station and toured Botswana to promote the single.

He was also nominated for the Live Your Dream SA Youth Awards as best upcoming artist.

“I will launch my EP (extended play) on the day of the event. It features eight tracks and will be on sale.

If everything goes well for this event, I hope to do it annually. Hopefully next year I will be able to bring bigger artists and DJs to entertain the youngsters.”

Bayanda has paid for the event out of his pocket but is in need of sponsorship for a stage. If anyone can help, call him on 073-113-0006.
