Family focus for music by the river

We want to try and grow the event with an even bigger headline act in December.

It’s all systems go for the third Music by the River Toti SPCA fundraiser with sponsors and organisers geared up for the event on Sunday, 29 May at the Amanzimtoti Civic Centre field.

“KFC and Galleria have come on board as sponsors,” said Toti SPCA manager, Tracey Girling.

“Mustard Seed Productions has kindly donated the stage, other sponsors Genmatics, PR Printing, Meldee Printing and Wasteman have come on board and Carbon Pixie has done all the organising.”

On stage will be Tyler Ds, Apparently Jak, Alimho and Storm, The Kickstands and Gus Brown, plus other entertainment.

“The plan is to do two events a year – one in summer and one in winter. The next one is arranged for 2 December, which is a Friday evening.

Nothing happens in Toti for families, so we hope people will come out in their droves to support,” said Tracey.

Gates open at 11.30am and the cost is R50 for adults, R20 for pensioners and children aged four to 12-years-old. Children under the age of three get in for free.

Food vendors will be available, however people are welcome to take along their own picnic baskets and alcohol.

Not Sheep Boutique will sell cupcakes at the event, with proceeds being donated to Toti SPCA.

“We want to try and grow the event with an even bigger headline act in December,” said Gavin Welsh of the Gus Brown Band and one of the organisers. “We want to grow it into a Botanic Gardens style event, that’s why we have moved it to a bigger area to accommodate more people.”
