Miniature show comes to Toti

We hope to have lots of support from the thousands who will attend the Highland Gathering.

Miniature lovers are in for a treat when the Durban Association of Miniature Enthusiasts (DAME) hosts a show at Toti library activities room on Saturday, 30 April from 9am to 4pm.

“People always show interest whenever the club exhibits, but when they hear the show is in Durban, they don’t come,” said the club’s chairman, Lynette Schultz. “This year, for the first time, the show is being held in Toti for locals to enjoy.

It is also held on the same Saturday as the Highland Gathering and we hope to have lots of support from the thousands who will attend the Gathering.”

Entrance to the exhibit is free, where visitors can enjoy a big display, including from Toti members Jennifer Hogno, Viv Jarratt and Annelize van der Elst and the club’s two local youngsters, Daena and Bella Piper.

“There will also be a sale table with miniature-related items on offer,” said Lynette.

“Every year we feature a raffle to raise funds for charity and this year we will raffle off a beautiful dollhouse to raise funds for Cansa. Tickets cost only R10 and as there is no entry fee, we hope all the visitors will donate R10 for a raffle ticket. We hope to sell as many tickets as possible.”
