EIGHTEEN Amanzimtoti Athletics Club athletes took part in the 25/10km Stella race this past weekend.
Starting at 5am, the weather was good but was very hot with high humidity.
The club’s best result was Thabani Ngcobo who did the 10km race in a time of 35.31 and finished in sixth position overall. Tierry Pletinckx completed the 25km race in 18th position. Well done to them both and to all who took part.

The committee is working hard in preparation for this year’s Clean Dick King half marathon and 15km walk.
This event takes place on 3 April. Entries are now open on www.totiac.co.za. The club is asking for volunteers to assist in marshalling. Contact Martyn on 082-876-3751. Helpers will receive a free T-shirt for their assistance.

Weekly time trials are on Wednesday at 5.30pm for walkers with 4km and 8km options. Runners start at 6pm, with the same distance options. Visitors are welcome to join. Meet at the clubhouse at Hutchison Park. On Saturdays there is an 11km run and walk from the clubhouse at 5.30am for walkers and 6am runners. Tea, coffee and biscuits are served afterwards.
