SHARP work from the eThekwini Inner South cluster task team, the provincial hijacking unit and a tracking company recovered three hijacked vehicles during an operation in the South on Thursday, 18 February.
The teams recovered a Hyundai i10, Toyota Corolla and a VW Polo Vivo at about 7.30pm in Umlazi. The three vehicles had been hijacked in Umbilo, Isipingo and Pinetown area earlier that day.
The hijackers are still being sought by police and arrests are imminent.
Provincial commissioner of KZN, Lt Gen Mmamonnye Ngobeni commended the members for the recovery of the vehicles. “The members will work tirelessly to catch all the criminals involved, so that they can face the full might of the law. I appeal to members of the public who know these thugs to contact the police, so they can be arrested,” she said.
