Celebs to dazzle at Night of 100 Stars

All proceeds made on the evening will go towards Cansa KZN’s cancer research projects and awareness campaigns in the Durban region, with the aim to bring hope and the possibility of a better life to all cancer survivors.

SPEND a night among the stars at the seventh edition of Cansa’s Night of 100 Stars on Monday, 9 November.

The Cancer Association of South Africa’s (Cansa) Night of 100 Stars is an annual fundraising ball filled with glitz, glamour and performances from some of South Africa’s most recognisable faces.

This year’s event line-up includes Samantha Peo, one of the most successful musical theatre and corporate theatre entertainers in the country who has been a judge on the past three seasons of Strictly Come Dancing. Artist, photographer and creative, John Adams will showcase live performance art along with theatre extraordinaire and Strictly Come Dancing host, Ian Von Memerty, and his wife ‘Queen of Dance’, Vivienne Lawrence.

Home-grown artists such as Durban-born singer/songwriter Natalie Rungan, will share the stage with Cape-born pop sensation and South African Idols contestant Brandon October and the local American folk group The South Jersey PomPoms, joined by the madly talented Anton Cawthorn-Blazeby.

Directed by Mark Hawkins and musical direction by Shem Mahabeer, this year’s spectacular event also features The Solid Gold Band, Lisa Bobbert and Aaron McIllroy and a host of other artists.

Executive director of Suncoast, Mike Dowsley said: “From the beginning of our partnership with Cansa KZN we have not only hosted magical evenings, but also assisted in raising much needed funds that assist in the fight against cancer. This year, we shall be doing it again, so be sure to join us and be entertained in aid of a good cause”.

Cara Noble, Cansa’s Durban divisional services manager said: “Fundraising events such as the Night of 100 Stars are truly amazing and rewarding, not only are you enchanted by the performers but your participation goes towards saving lives. Cancer is a disease that has affected and claimed many lives – your participation in this event will go towards fighting this disease and making a difference too many lives around the world”.

All proceeds made on the evening will go towards Cansa KZN’s cancer research projects and awareness campaigns in the Durban region, with the aim to bring hope and the possibility of a better life to all cancer survivors. Tickets for the event are on sale at R500 per person or R5,000 per table and include entertainment and a three course dinner.

The dress code for the evening is Hollywood glam, so dust off those feathers and put on your bling – it’s going to be a night to remember. To book tickets email Cara Noble on cnoble@cansa.org.za.
