Spring presents the perfect time to show why this should not be a once-a-year event but a seasonal aspiration for the renewal of our beautiful natural resources.

SPRING has sprung, and it presents the perfect opportunity to not only spring clean your home but your surroundings in Amanzimtoti too.
There are always many causes to support, but wouldn’t it be wonderful if, along with the advent of Spring this week, it brings with it a renewed vigour among residents to mobilise and work together to try and eradicate some of the environmental ills that surround us?
There’s plenty of opportunity, what with the Toti Conservancy – which has been central in several eco-efforts locally – looking for more willing hands to get involved. Equally, the Army Saints have achieved amazing things with no money and only the input of several hundred man-hours of time from eager helpers.
It wasn’t long ago that the country celebrated Mandela Day by donating 67 minutes of time to a worthy cause. Spring presents the perfect time to show why this should not be a once-a-year event but a seasonal aspiration for the renewal of our beautiful natural resources.
Pick up litter and maintain your verge, go along to the impending beach clean-up and make up the numbers needed to ensure the shoreline is pristine or simply sign up with one of the local service clubs like Lions, Rotary or Round Table – all that’s needed is a little effort, input and time. Your energies will not go unnoticed as Spring casts its cheery glow along the Sapphire Coast.
