The organiser of the event, Lynette Botha of Amanzimtoti Athletic Club, said, “There is still time for keen runners to enter this year’s Goss & Balfe Sapphire Coast Marathon which is set to be another fantastic qualifier. We’d also like to thank sponsors Goss & Balfe and Galleria Mall for making this event possible.”

Event organisers are also alerting residents from Amanzimtoti, Warner Beach, Athlone Park and Prospecton to some traffic delays and noise on Sunday, however, it will be limited to the morning only. Botha said that while there is no full road closure, Metro Police is on hand to direct traffic, with marshals ensuring the safety of runners.

Drivers are asked to be vigilant if driving in the area on the day. Amanzimtoti Athletic Club, with two sweeper trucks and clean-up crews, will ensure that all litter is removed from the route so as not to impact the environment.

Registration takes place on October 27, from 16:00 to 20:00, and October 28, from 10:00 to 18:00, at the Amanzimtoti Athletic Club, 1 Riverside Road.

The 10km starts at 06:00, and the cut-off time is 08:30. The late entry fee is R220.

The 21.1km starts at 06:00 and cut-off is 09:30. The late entry fee is R250.

The 42.2km starts at 05:30 and cut-off is 11:30. The late entry fee is R380.
