Small but mighty Kallen wins at karate championships

KALLEN Visser from Amanzimtoti is living proof that dynamite truly comes in small packages.

The Grade Four learner recently competed in the Japan Karate Association (JKA) KZN Provincial Championships at Thomas More College in Kloof, where he made an impressive mark.

Kallen bagged double gold in Kumite and earned a silver in Kata. Kumite, a sparring match where karatekas engage in combat with strikes, showcased Kallen’s quick reflexes and skill. Meanwhile, his silver medal in Kata, a series of movements that tell a story, demonstrated his patience, discipline, and attention to detail.
