Field A played host to the highly-contested U13 Duikers vs Golden Lions match which ended with the Lions winning 17 – 14.
Manager for the Duikers’ side, Jean Marais, said it was an exciting game with his boys dominating the game in the first half, leading 14 – 0. “The boys played extremely well, with lots of structure in their game. Unfortunately, towards the latter part of the second half, we let the game slip leading to a narrow loss. However, I am extremely proud of them. They’re all motivated and dedicated, and ready for the rest of the tournament,” he said.
The Amanzimtoti Youth Rugby Club is well-represented, with 36 players and three coaches selected for this year’s IPT, which ends on September 28.
