Mother-daughter duo take on SPAR Women’s Challenge

This will be the first time that Natasha and Megan Louw take on the SPAR Women's 5km Challenge together. Natasha, who has completed the race twice previously, will support and encourage her daughter to reach the finish line.

MOTHER-DAUGHTER duo, Natasha and Megan Louw (11), of Amanzimtoti, are looking forward to taking part in the SPAR Women’s 5km Challenge on June 23.

This will be Natasha’s third time participating in the event and Megan’s first. Despite feeling a bit nervous, Megan is excited to join her mother in the race. The duo has already tackled a few 5km events together, including the Galleria Mall Challenge.

Natasha said, “She has been enjoying running together so much that I thought this event would make for a fun day out for the girls. We’ll also be joined by a few of our friends.”

Natasha also mentioned that the atmosphere at the SPAR Women’s Challenge is always vibrant, filled with giveaways and entertainment, making it a special event.

“I think this year’s race theme, #ChooseYou, is great. It’s empowering young girls to motivate and inspire others. There’s just so much power in women getting together in numbers; it’s all about building each other up and encouraging one another,” she said.

Natasha, who has been bitten by the running bug, is enthusiastic about increasing her running activities. She stays fit and healthy by being part of a fitness group, Shapes for Women. Megan is also no stranger to athletics as she frequently participates in school sports.

Beyond running, the pair enjoy spending time at the beach and engaging in outdoor activities.
