“It was a great day overall. The friendships and camaraderie that are built at tournaments like this are priceless. We are blessed to have so many remarkable young athletes compete at this level. The crowd was amazing as they supported their respective teams, singing and shouting right to the end,” he said.

The participating schools are split into two pools, each showcasing their talent across rugby, hockey and netball in various age categories. Pool A consists of Hoërskool Pionier, Vryheid High School, Richardsbay High School and Empageni High School, while Pool B has Kingsway High School, Riverwood College, Hillcrest High School and Hoërskool Suid Natal.

Points were awarded based on performance, with additional bonuses for outstanding achievements.

“At the finals, all points that are allocated per sporting code will be added together, and the school with the highest points will be the overall winning school. Individual teams will also be rewarded as they all play for positions one to eight,” said Cameron.

As Kingsway High looks ahead to the next stage of the tournament, it extends gratitude to the parents, sponsors and community members for their unwavering support.

This weekend sees schools heading to Riverwood College for the finals.
