Amanzimtoti runner successfully completes PDAC 25km

Ciska Elston is now training for the upcoming Hillcrest 42.2km and Best of the Best 21.1km as well as the Om Die Dam Ultra-marathon.

CISKA Elston was the only member of Run Walk For Life Amanzimtoti who took part and completed the PDAC 25km on January 28.

According to a statement by Pinetown and Districts Athletics Club, with the race now finishing at New Germany Primary School, they had to add a 2km loop in Gillitts which was received with mixed emotions.

Elston, who took part for the first time, finished in a time of two hours, forty minutes. “The day overall was brilliant, and the marshals were on point, especially at the busy intersections. Those last two hills definitely humbled a runner,” she said.

Elston is now preparing for the Hillcrest 42.2km and Best of the Best 21.1km as well as the Om Die Dam Ultra-marathon in March which will be her first 50km.

PDAC also gave thanks to all the athletes, marshals and volunteers as well as sponsors who made the day a success.
