As such, it is geared towards being a fun and light-hearted event, with an emphasis on dressing in festive attire.

Ciska Elston, franchisee of RWFL Toti, said they were initially apprehensive as the weather forecast predicted rain, however, the day turned out perfect.

“For this race, we did it as a club. So we started together and finished together. It was a very hilly route. The water tables were amazing, and Illovo Sugar spoilt us with flapjacks and syrup with bananas at the halfway mark,” she said.

Elston said the club focuses on getting people from walking to running. “We want to create an environment where people who are at the beginning of their exercise journey can feel at home,” she said.

Looking forward to next year, RWFL Toti has exciting plans, with the Scottburgh Half Marathon and 10km marking the beginning of major events.
