Members of Winklespruit Bowling Club have a busy schedule planned until Christmas

Diarise the dates for upcoming events at WBC.

MEMBERS of Winklespruit Bowling Club (WBC) returned to the green on Sunday morning, November 28 and after a game of bowls they enjoyed a social braai.

Thanks to Norma Raath for ensuring the bar was well stocked and refreshments were cold and available. And to all the members who ensured that the bowls equipment were safely stored away at the end of play.

Over the first two weeks of December, the club will have numerous competitions and functions, so there are plenty of dates to diarise.

Saturday, December 4, sees the prize giving taking place at 09:00. Wear club colours and each member to supply a plate of eats.

The women’s Twinkle trips is carded for Wednesday, December 8, at 08:30 for 09:00 and social bowls with tabs in by 13:30 for 14:00.

The men’s trips takes place on Thursday, December 9. Registration at 08:30 for 09:00.

On Friday, December 10, there will be no social bowls and the green will be closed due to a private function at the club.

The Christmas party takes place on Saturday, December 11, at 17:30 for 18:00. Members who are attending need to have paid in full by no later than Monday, December 6. For more information contact Norma Raath.

On Sunday, December 12, the club hosts the Upper South Coast Nomads at 08:30 for 09:00. All are welcome, wear whites or your club colours. There will be a bring and braai after bowls.

Social bowls is on Wednesday, December 15, Friday, December 17, and Wednesday, December 22. Tabs in at 13:30 for 14:00.

The final event for the year is the men’s 2-4-2 which takes place on Thursday, December 23. Registration at 08:30 for 09:00. Take note that after this event the club and green will be closed and will reopen on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, with social bowls as the first event of the new year. Tabs in at 13:30 for 14:00.

The club wish Barry Hilton and Nevil Rosco a speedy recovery. To members who are celebrating a birthday this week, the club wish you a happy birthday.
