Winklespruit Bowling Club members compete for men’s championship

Players and visitors to the club is reminded to bring their own water beaker, cup or bottle.

WINKLESPRUIT Bowling Club’s (WBC) president and committee are happy to see the members’ involvement in club events whether it be on or off the green. The club thanks its members for their support over the past few months.

Club competitions are on the board, ensure you enter your names in the competition book. Should you require a marker ask a member to mark your game.

Some of the club’s members took the initiative and organised their games, one of them being in the women’s drawn pairs with Sylveigh Ananiadis and Elmarie Young taking on Margret van Belkum and Dot Liebetrau.

There was a men’s championship singles game played between Eddie Bingham and Alan Raubenheimer, which was also played with high levels of competitiveness from both players.

Club competition results:

Women’s drawn pairs: Sylveigh Ananiadis and Elmarie Young beat Margret van Belkum and Dot Liebetrau.

Women’s singles club championship: Dot Liebetrau beat Sheila Court.

Men’s singles club championship: Eddie Bingham beat Alan Raubenheimer.

Men’s nominated 2-4-2: Rob Hilton and Basil Ananiadis beat Eddie Bingham and Adrian Morrison.

Upcoming club competitions:

Friday, 26 March: Friday night social meal after social bowls.

Saturday, 27 March: John Dory mixed trips – registration at 8.30am for 9am, bring and braai after the game.

Social bowls every Wednesday and Friday – tabs in at 2pm for 2.30pm.

For those who put their names down for the Friday night meal – pay your meal fee as soon as possible. The members draw was conducted on Friday, 19 March, and Joyce Mackrory’s tab was drawn, but unfortunately she was not present so the prize carry’s over to the next draw.
