Jeanne and team win Hypersure Trips at Amanzimtoti Bowling Club

Diary reminders are the big chicks on Saturday, 20 March, the mutton on Saturday, 27 March, burgers and bowls on 1 April and the Easter 4’s nominated tournament on 3 and 4 April.

THE Hypersure mixed trips has been a favourite summer competition with Amanzimtoti Bowling Club (ABC) members for many years and so there have always been a large number of teams entered.

The sixth and final round for the year was played on Saturday, 13 March, and winning all their games to come in first place were Jeanne Alexander, Mike Groom and Ray Robinson. In second place were Doug and Lynn Joubert and Eddie Baker and third place went to Tokkie and Kokkie de Kok with Elmarie Young.

The winners of plate B was Carl van Heerden, Brian Masters and Kathy Cox, with second place going to Shaun and Jaylene Fagan with Cathy Badenhorst. Thanks to Hypersure for its enthusiastic support to the club and long-standing sponsorship of this competition.

Battling not only top district players, but also the intense heat on Sunday, 14 March, four Toti bowlers have progressed to the next round of the Port Natal open singles. Congratulations to Tokkie de Kock, Lynn Joubert and Amanda Ninow who won their sections and to Jane Coetzee who got through on a walk-over. Best of luck to them in next week’s game when they will be playing at Bluff Bowling Club.

In the two novice singles games played this week, sisters Lesley Levy and Hilary Lindsay beat Cathy Badenhorst and Jenny Rautenbach respectively.

At TGIF the 100 board was won by Leigh Callaghan and Keith Berry’s tab came out in the attendance draw. As he was not present the prize will be R150 next week. Michelle Pitchers was not able to find the right key in the key draw so that jackpot will go up to R1 580 next week with 38 keys to choose from.

Diary reminders are the big chicks on Saturday, 20 March, the mutton on Saturday, 27 March, burgers and bowls on 1 April and the Easter 4’s nominated tournament on 3 and 4 April.

Birthday greetings for the week go to Kathy Cox and Peter Shepard. Contact ABC on 031-903-3857.
