Juniors tennis champs serve up a storm

The Amanzimtoti Tennis Club offers full membership whereby balls, tea, league, fun and family round robins.

As a result of hard work and dedication, members of the Toti Junior Development squad are now able to play with the senior club.  For the past three years, Toti Junior Development has been working with the young players to give them free tennis lessons on Saturday mornings.  This has helped junior players to put into practice what they have learnt during a lesson or just hitting the ball with their friends and family.

“The senior club has welcomed many of the juniors to the Saturday and Wednesday afternoon socials because of the players reaching a more than acceptable standard of play,” said coach, Loraine Osborne.  Our junior players learn so much from our seniors, even running for the drop shots which some of us oldies just can’t reach any more.”

The Amanzimtoti Tennis Club offers full membership whereby balls, tea, league, fun and family round robins. Organised social matches are offered as well as a social membership whereby people can join and have full use of the courts except during organised social on a Saturday and Wednesday afternoon.

“As soon as Covid-19 is over Junior Development will start up again and more juniors will come through the ranks to join the seniors. Tennis is a game that is played throughout the world. We even have players well into the eighties showing our juniors a trick or two. It is also a way for the family to spend a great Saturday afternoon.”
