WBC gears up for competition finals

WBC women and men’s pairs competitions is going well with the semi finals coming up soon.

The finals for the Winkle Bowling Club’s (WBC) women and men’s singles competitions will be played on Saturday, 11 May at 8.30am for 9am.

WBC women and men’s pairs competitions is going well with the semi finals coming up soon. Members are requested to complete the pairs competitions as soon as possible as the list for the women and men’s trips competitions will be going up on the board in the near future.

Social bowls on Wednesdays and Fridays is always well supported by bowlers who enjoy this social time together. The club welcomes all bowlers who wish to play. Starting time is 1.30pm for 2pm. There will be a meal on Friday evening, 3 May. Put your name on the board or contact Trish Farmer should you wish to attend.

In the Winkle men’s monthly 2-4-2 held on Thursday, 25 April, the winners were Steve Evenwell and Shaun Sutherland. The second session was won by Dave Kemp and Eric Morsner.

In the Winkle monthly mixed trips played on Saturday, 27 April, the overall winners were Mike Kruger, Tokkie de Kock and Di Kruger. The second session went to Jeff van Belkum, Allan Baxter and Margaret van Belkum.

Upcoming club games to diarise:

  • Men’s trips on Thursday, 9 May.
  • The women’s twinkle trips takes place on Wednesday, 15 May.
  • All morning games start at 8.30am for 9am.
  • The women and men’s league teams will be playing on Saturday, 4 May.

Winkle Bowling Club wishes John and Tracy Scott all the best in their marriage and may they have many blessed years together.

The club wishes all those with birthdays in May a blessed year ahead.
