Colour run fun comes to Toti on Father’s Day

We are currently looking for spot prizes, and companies and individuals who would like to donate can contact us.

Amanzimtoti Athletics Club (ACC) hosts a colour run on Sunday, 17 June at Amanzimtoti Sports Centre. The family fun day will feature a 2km, 4km and 8km which will all be done on the cross country and mountain bike route along the river and surrounding sport fields. The 8km will be two laps of the 4km route.

“There will be colour stations along the route where the walkers and runners will be bombarded with colour powder. This powder is environmentally-friendly and safe to humans,” said ACC’s Riaan Vosloo.

Participants are encouraged to wear a white T-shirt, which works well for the colours to stand out. Small colour sachets might be on sale before or after the event but there will be enough to throw on you along the route.

Registration start at 9am at the ACC clubhouse. The cost is R20 for the 2km that starts at 10.30am. “This is for smaller children, families and individuals that only want to do a short distance,” said Riaan.

The 4km which starts at 11am costs R30. “This is ideal for groups or companies that would like to come and do team-building. It is also ideal for younger children or the older generation.

The 8km also starts at 11am at a cost of R40, but there are two laps for the people who feel the first lap was just a warm-up and the ones who want to be more colour-coded than the others. This is a fun family event which is not about winning. We are currently looking for spot prizes, and companies and individuals who would like to donate can contact us.”

Coffee will be on sale and food and drinks will be sold at the clubhouse. “In light of it being Father’s Day, we are also making up a Father’s Bay hamper, which will be raffled. Tickets will be sold and the draw done at about noon.”
