WBC’s Lou Lou through to women’s PN semi finals

WINKLESPRUIT Bowling Club’s Lou Lou Bingham won through to the semi-finals of the women’s Port Natal open singles championships last weekend.

The club is extremely proud of her as it is known that she had tough opposition.

In the men’s senior singles first session, Brian Pasfield was victorious over Ken Baker, Rob Stewart beat Adrian Morrison and Brian Bodley was the victor over Alan Baxter. In the second session Barrie De Wee beat Eddie Bingham, Bill Hobbs was victorious over Noel Saville and Freddy Hetterscheidt was the victor over Rob Stewart. Shirley De Wee was the victor over Lou Lou Bingham in the first session of the women’s championship singles, and Sheila Court was victorious over Shirley De Wee in the first session of the women’s senior singles.

Overall winners of the Warner Beach Kwik Spar (Winkle) trips played on Thursday were Denise Bingham, Marilyn and Albie. Second session winners were Julie Sutherland, Amanda Ninow and Rob Stewart. Vera Broskie won the 100 board, Julie Sutherland the mystery prize and Dawn won the spider.

Wednesday and Friday afternoon social bowls was well attended. The winner of the attendance draw on Friday evening was Lou Lou Bingham. As she was not present it is a carry over.

There will be a Friday evening meal this Friday so let Trish know before Friday if you will be attending, for catering reasons.

Diarise the following dates: The Mixed Clearwater Spur 2-4-2 will be played this Saturday morning, 10 March at 8am for 8.30am.

The women’s twinkle trips will be played on Wednesday, 14 March at 8am for 8.30am.

Social bowls starts at the summer starting time of 2.30pm for 3pm on Wednesdays and Fridays. Members are asked to play their club competitions as indicated on the competition board.

The club wishes Shirley De Wee a happy birthday and a blessed year ahead.

Prayers and thoughts are with Wessie van der Westhuizen and Allan Duncan who are recovering from operations.
