Lou Lou’s trio win Les John bowls at Winkle BC

Members to play their club competitions as indicated on the competition board.

OVERALL winners of the Kwik Spar women’s Winkle trips played on Thursday, 1 February were Linda Johns, Marion Liebenberg and Jenny Maude.

Second session was taken by Marge Eriksen, Gay Jute and Pipa Hanel.

The winner of the 100 board was Vera Broskie . Sheila Court won the spider and Amanda Ninow the mystery prize.

Lou Lou Bingham, Elmarie Young and Dries Snyman were the overall winners of the Les John competition played on Saturday. Second session winners were Alan Raubenheimer, Sylveigh Ananiadis and Cedric Kruger. They weren’t only session winners but also earned a nine, which is a full house, where all members of the team have all their bowls in count for the specific head played. Les Gibbens won the 100 board.

Wednesday and Friday afternoon social bowls was once again well attended. Shirley Forrester-Smith won the Friday evening attendance draw but as she was not present, it is a carry-over. Alan Raubenheimer was the Wheel of Fortune winner.

The well attended Friday evening meal was a great success. Thanks and appreciation go to Trish for cooking the meal, Elmarie for making the pudding and Wilma and Margaret for assisting in the kitchen. Everyone enjoyed the delicious meal and pudding. There will be a Friday evening meal again this week. Notify Trish before Friday, or place your name on the notice board if you wish to attend, for catering reasons.

Diarise the following dates: The Clearwater Spur mixed 2-4-2 will be played this Saturday morning, 17 February at 8am for 8.30am. The men’s 2-4-2 is to be played on Thursday, 22 February at 8am for 8.30am.

Starting time for social bowls is at the summer starting time, which is 2.30pm for 3pm on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Members are to play their club competitions as indicated on the competition board.

The club wishes Doug Tinkler, Mike Joyce, Les John, Erroll Jordan and Eddie Bingham a happy birthday and a blessed year ahead.

The prayers and thoughts are with George Cormack and Wessie, who are recovering from their operations.
