Winkle BC green re-opens after annual maintenance

The Friday evening meal was very successful and was well attended.

THE Winklespruit Bowling Club green is open after the annual green maintenance.

Hence bowlers can all get down to some serious bowling again and also enjoy social bowling days.

There will be a fun competition this Friday with a bring and braai after the game. Salads and fires will be provided, so go and enjoy the company of fellow bowlers.

The women’s Winkle trips will be played on Thursday, 7 December at 8.30am for 9am.

Bowlers are reminded of the end of year Christmas dinner which takes place on Saturday, 9 December at 6pm for 6.30pm. The closing date for payment for the dinner is this Friday, 1 December.

The annual prize-giving will take place on Saturday, 16 December at 8.30am for 9am. Take note that whites must be worn.

The monthly boot sale will take place this Saturday morning.

The successful Friday evening meal was well attended. Everyone enjoyed the scrumptious meal prepared by Sheila Court and the delicious pudding made by Bessie Vergottini. The preparation and sacrifice of their time is appreciated. The winner of the Friday evening attendance draw was Piet du Toit. As he was not present it will be a carry over. Alan Raubenheimer won the wheel of fortune.

The competitions are up on the competition notice board for 2018.

Starting time for social bowls is at the Summer starting time, which is 2.30pm for 3pm on Wednesdays and Fridays. The club wishes Trish Farmer a happy birthday this week. Prayers and thoughts are with Honey Behr who is recovering from a hip operation.
