AMANZIMTOTI Golf Club women sent a fourball down to Scottburgh to compete in the Lewis Reynolds trophy on Sunday, and came away overall winners.

Well done to Jacqui Porrill, Liz Donald, Adri Slabbert and Sue Conlan on a great win and for flying the Toti flag high.

Still with the women, Saturday’s format was a fourball alliance and the top two teams both finished on 60. Taking first place by count out was the team of Ina de Boer, Lynette Roodt, Adri Slabbert and Estelle Binnekade who relegated Jacqui Porrill, Delene Berry, Sue Boucher and Estelle into second place. Nearest the pin on the 4th went to Sue Boucher.

The men played 4BBB stableford, with Ronnie Nair and Bobby Milne taking the honours on 48, followed by Mike and Dane on 47, and Bruce and Jason on 46 points.

Wednesday’s IPS attracted a fair-sized field, and the scores were good too. H Botha won on 41 points, counting out Terry Cousins and Bobby Milne in third on 38.

On Friday, 23 players competed in the nine-hole sundowner, and Hannes Beneke blew the field away with a stunning 23 points, followed by Ben Viljoen on 19 and H Botha in third on 18.

The golf club hosted another successful fundraising evening last Friday, when Danny Fisher of Blarney Brothers fame took to the stage accompanied by his daughter Danielle, and entertained the spectators. These evenings not only entertain but also generate much needed funds for the club. The impact of being in a position to upgrade is evident, with the course in great condition and the greens well on the way to perfection after the Spring treatment.

With this in mind, all golfers are urged to repair pitch-marks on the greens, as they bruise easily at the moment, and great care is needed to ensure the best recovery possible.

As always, Toti Golf Club invites visitors and locals to play a round of golf on its beautiful course. Phone the pro shop on 031-902-4144 to book a round. Carts are available for hire, and the driving range is available for golfers wishing to learn the game or just hone their skills.
