IN the second leg of Winklespruit Bowling Club’s senior men’s singles, Allan Duncan beat Cedric Kruger.

Lou Lou Bingham and Elmarie Young were the victors over Elaine Critchlow and Linda Hobbs in the finals of the women’s 2-4-2.

The AGM took place on Saturday and the new committee are as follows: Brian Farmer president; Trish Farmer vice-president; Sylveigh Ananiadis treasurer; Trish Farmer secretary; Lou Lou Bingham women’s competition secretary; Alan Raubenheimer men’s competition secretary; Innocent Ndlovo greenkeeper; committee members Eddie Bingham, Cathy du Plooy, Andre Gelderblom and Norma Raath. They are wished a blessed and successful year ahead.

Everyone present enjoyed the delicious meal and pudding on Friday evening which was prepared by Trish. The atmosphere was great and generous helpings were served. The club expresses its appreciation to her for sponsoring and preparing the meal and pudding. There will be another meal this Friday evening. Put your names on the list on the noticeboard or let Trish Farmer know before Friday if you are attending, for catering reasons. Clasina Powell was the attendance draw winner.

Diarise the following dates: The annual Bools day competition will be played on Saturday, 26 August at 8.30am for 9am. Barry Simpson will place a list of names on the notice board to indicate if you will be playing at ABC or WBC. Check the competition notice board and complete the outstanding competitions. Men’s 2-4-2 will once again be played on Thursday, 31 August due to the month having an extra week.

Social bowls will be played on Wednesday and Friday afternoons, at 1.30pm for 2pm.

The club’s prayers and thoughts are with members who are not well.
