Try fests see Toti rugby teams climb log

The fourth team travelled to Umgababa, but their opposition decided to go on stike and failed to pitch for the game.

Toti kept their composure when the Empangeni team applied pressure on them to leave the score 21-10 at half time. However, a good team talk saw the Toti boys gear up to run in a number of well worked, unanswered tries in the second half. The bench players who took the field continued the momentum, ensuring a full bag of points for Toti. Try scorers were Chad Fisher (2), Juan Niewoudt, Kevin Buck, Ryno Els, Wimpie Pretorius and Kyle Gerhard.

The man of the match awards went to Etienne Ries in the forwards and Werner Botha in the backline.

Four of the tries were converted to take the half time score to 48-0 to Toti. The second half saw the Toti ballies taking time to get out of their sleeping bags as they allowed Westville to run in two tries. This saw the final scoreboard reflect 48-10 to Toti.

U20 team

The ‘youngsters’ took on College Rovers on Saturday, 20 May at Hutchison Park. In a game that saw the Rovers team running in three unanswered tries, it looked like the Toti lads were out of their depth.
