See surf legend at Ballito Pro

The high performance action kicks off with the Billabong junior series

GET ready to watch surfing legends Jordy Smith, Josh Kerr and Nat Young compete in the warmest winter waves at the annual Ballito Pro presented by Billabong from 27 June to 9 July.

Recent Oi Rio Pro dominator Yago Dora and 2015 Ballito Pro winner, Alejo Muniz will also be carving through the water at the 49th edition of the world’s longest running professional surfing event with a prize-pool of R3.4 million.

The women will showcase their talent in the QS1,000 Ballito Women’s Pro presented by Billabong while the Billabong Junior Series includes events for men and women aged 18-and-under for the second year.

The high performance action kicks off with the Billabong junior series from 27 to 29 June followed by the Surfing SA trials on Friday, 30 June and the Ballito Women’s Pro on 1 and 2 July.

The crown jewel of the festival, the QS10,000 Ballito Pro takes centre stage from Monday, 3 July to Sunday, 9 July.

Alongside the surfing, visitors will be spoiled for choice with non-stop activities providing even more entertainment throughout the Ballito festival site. South Africa’s hottest musical acts appealing to all tastes – rock, pop, hip hop, kwaito, electro and dance – will be performing live on Salt Rock Beach over the last weekend from July 7-9. Beach and extreme sports, culinary contests as well as quality retail and food stalls will captivate visitors to this coastal holiday highlight.

Vendors are called to apply to hire retail vending units at the Ballito Pro event. There are demarcated areas for food vendors, retail, crafters, displays and exhibitions.
