Pre-season friendlies show Toti RC’s strengths

For a first-time outing, it was clear that the Toti boys had not lost any of their abilities from 2016.

ETHEKWINI Refractories Amanzimtoti Rugby Club has two friendly matches leading into the Flya Tournament which will start on Friday, 10 March at Crusaders.

The team played College Rovers on Saturday, 25 February where the results were not of critical importance, but more about getting the season’s combinations together.

For a first-time outing, it was clear that the Toti boys had not lost any of their abilities from 2016. The goals set by the coaching staff were achieved and the boxes ticked.

The team then took on Varsity College on Friday, 3 March. This was a more structured game, but it was still used to work on combinations in certain positions. Both the first and second teams won their respective games.

There can be no doubt from the two friendlies that the club is in a good space and will once again be a force to be reckoned with in 2017.
