Eight ball pool league winners named

Taking the title for the women's knock out champion for 2016 is Julie Brown and men's knock out champion for 2016 Barry Hill.

SAPPHIRE Coast Eight Ball Pool held its annual prize-giving at Scottburgh Country Club on Saturday, 17 December.

Thanks are extended to Ronel and Dereck of Scottburgh County Club for hosting the prize-giving and providing the meal.

The awards made were as follows: Award for clubs which showed their support throughout the year went to Warnadoone Angling Club, owners Steve and Christo and Scottburgh Country Club, owners Ronel and Dereck. Most dedicated players of 100% attendance, who did not miss a game throughout the year: Charlene Sharp of WAC, Dennis Linden of WAC and Megan Brett of WAC.

Most improved players in each club: Lisa Vorster (Sapphire Cove), James Olivier (Warnadoone Angling Club), Mark Mac Farlane (Junction 9), Lauro Chiccaro (Scottburgh Country Club).

Award for representing KZN at a national level: In the women’s SAs Julie Brown for being a player, Rodney Brown and Liza Vorster for referee and Charlene Sharp for manager. At the opens for being a referee, Mark Mac Farlane.

League runner-up team champions for 2016: The team that came second in the league for 2016, Warnadoone C team of Charlene Sharp, Jody Naidoo, Jerome Govinden, Ashlin Pillay and reserve Keeran Naidoo.

2016 Sapphire Coast league team champion went to Warnadoone A, Team: Mags Govender, Dennis Linden, Gareth Smith, Megan Brett and reserve Monice Grieve.

Sapphire Coast knock-out women’s runner-up for 2016 Ronel Scheepers.

Sapphire Coast men’s knock-out runner-up Buks Swanepoel.

Taking the title for the women’s knock out champion for 2016 is Julie Brown and men’s knock out champion for 2016 Barry Hill. Both Barry and Julie played exceptionally well with an almost clean sweep score on the day of the finals.

Woman who came second in the individual stats, being the women’s singles runner-up for 2016: Liza Vorster.

Women’s singles champion for 2016, coming first in stats for the women: Megan Brett.

Singles runner-ups, the person who came second overall in stats for 2016, was a tie between Megan Brett and Mark Mac Farlane, Mark was also the men’s singles runner-up.

Men’s singles champ and overall 2016 Sapphire Coast singles champion, Lauro Chiccaro.
