Winkle BC wishes members well in 2017

WINKLESPRUIT Bowling Club wishes all its members as well as neighbouring bowling club members a blessed and prosperous 2017 and good bowling.

Overall winners of the men’s Clearwater Spur 2-4-2 played on Thursday, 22 December at Toti Bowling Club were Ian Crouch and Coy Schrauwen. Second session was won by Mac Mackrory and Brian Pasfield.

Winkle BC celebrated the new year by having a fun competition which started late in the afternoon of 31 December and finished with night bowls. There was a bring-and-braai after the game.

The competition and braai afterwards was well attended and everyone appeared to have thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Overall winners for the competition were Martin Young, Di Kruger and Bill Hobbs. Second session winners were Mac Mackrory, Dries Snyman and Loanne Evenwel. Steve Evenwel won the 100 board.

Women’s twinkle trips will be played on Wednesday, 11 January and the men’s trips on Thursday, 12 January. The Les John Saturday mixed 2-4-2 will be played on Saturday, 14 January.

Congratulations to Brian Bodley, Clasina Powell and Allan Duncan who celebrate their birthdays this week and a speedy recovery to all those who are not well. The club’s prayers and thoughts are with you.

Social bowls will be played on Wednesday and Friday starting at 2.30pm for 3pm.

Members are asked to pay their affiliation fees as soon as possible.
