Cyclists mount their saddles for festive events

The weather was glorious and about 15 Mambas, together with their families, got into the Christmas spirit.

VIRGINIA Farm has it all in timber plantations, sugar cane fields, grasslands, indigenous bush, high sandstone cliffs, deep valleys (read hills), streams and dams.

It incorporates all that a mountain biker enthusiast demands.

So when it hosts the Eston Christmas Classic with a choice of either 40km, 22km or 10km, Amanzimtoti Cycle Club Mambas are there to pursue their sport among magnificent settings, surrounded by beautiful scenery, undulating fast and free flowing tracks with a few technical sections along the way.

The weather was glorious and about 15 Mambas, together with their families, got into the Christmas spirit.

The roadies got into the spirit of Christmas too, when they rode the Christmas Light Ride which was on Monday night due to safety, as its generally the quietest night of the week. There was a toy collection for anybody who wished to donate a toy and some of the members of Shur Up and Ride Cycling Club will be going to a children’s home on Christmas day to give them to the children.

On Friday, 2 December, the roadies are joining forces with Giant Toti Athlone Park who are putting together a hamper for Jona Vaughan, a worthy organisation for the disabled.
