Winkle BC green opens after maintenance

THE Winkle Bowling Club green is open to play bowls, after the annual green maintenance, as from Wednesday, 30 November.
Peter Labuschagne and Neville Roscoe were the overall winners of the Winklespruit men’s 2-4-2 played on Thursday, 29 September at Toti Bowling Club.
Second session was won by Mac Mackrory and Brian Pasfield. Sylveigh Ananiadis won the attendance draw on Friday evening. The bring and braai on Friday evening was a great success with a good turn-out. The buzz of conversation and merry laughter was proof of people thoroughly enjoying themselves.
There was good attendance at the annual prize-giving which took place on Saturday, 26 November.
The monthly boot sale will take place on Saturday, 3 December. The men’s Thursday trips will be played on Thursday, 8 December.
The women’s twinkle trips will be played on Wednesday, 14 December which is the second Wednesday of December.
The annual Christmas dinner date has been changed, due to unforeseen circumstances, from 10 December to Friday, 16 December at 6pm for 6.30pm. Indicate on the list on the notice board if you will be attending, for catering reasons. Members who would like to be transported to the Christmas dinner and returned home afterwards should indicate their interest on the list on the board for transport arrangements.
Social bowls will be played on Wednesday and Friday afternoon, with a starting time of 2pm for 2.30pm.
There will be no Friday evening meal this Friday.
The friendly return match of Winkle Bowling Club against Chatsworth Bowling Club will take place on Saturday, 10 December. Check the notice board for teams and departure time.
The club expresses its appreciation to Toti Bowling Club for the loan of its scarifier and fertilizer spreader, which was used during Winkle BC’s annual green maintenance, as well as for allowing members to make use of their bowling green and club facilities so that monthly competitions could be played.
Congratulations to everyone celebrating their birthdays during the week and a speedy recovery to all who are not well.
