Tenacious nippers soldier on despite weather

Duties continue to be performed well, despite the adverse weather conditions so well done to all duty members.

THE weather continues to play havoc with the Winklespruit Surf Lifesaving Club’s nipper training sessions, as nearly every Sunday has been either cold or rainy but to the amazement of the nipper trainers, the children still get down to the beach, as enthusiastic as ever.

Two weeks ago the nippers attended a carnival in Durban where some good wins and placings were achieved. This Sunday the children will be in Durban once again at the next nipper carnival.

Junior and seniors have also started training under the guidance of Dean Marais and a lot of moaning and groaning has been heard – it has been a good winter.

Duties continue to be performed well, despite the adverse weather conditions so well done to all duty members.

On the social scene, the club’s Friday nights have been well attended and all are to note that the Halloween party takes place this Friday night. This is a great occasion with many children going to great lengths to dress up in the hope of winning the best dressed category. Members are to also note that the club will be open for all the upcoming Springbok games – however painful it might be.

See you on the beach.
