Toti team wins PN fours

CONGRATULATIONS to Barbara Beamson, Jeanne Alexander, Lynn Joubert and Michelle Pitchers of Amanzimtoti Bowling Club.

They have won the 2016 Port Natal women’s fours despite stiff opposition and adverse weather conditions throughout the tournament, which started in high winds and finished in heavy rain.

Also in the winning circle, coming third was the Toti team of Elmarie Young, Linda McGregor, Dot Liebetrau and Maureen Griffin. They have all made the club very proud.

In scroungers Dave Kemp was first, Peter Labuschagne second and Jeff van Belkum third. Plate A was won by new member George Glaves, and plate B by Ian Crouch.

Big Chicks winners were Ian Crouch, Lofty van Tonder, Marion Crouch and Julie Sutherland. In second place were Linden and Heather Cooper, Boet Els and Greg Veldtman. Third place was won by Gerald Chalder-Royle, Amanda Ninow, Wessie van der Westhuizen and Kokkie de Kock. First session went to John Marsh, Vince Marriott, Andrew Pearce and Tokkie de Kock; and second session went to Willem Pelser, Alec Stirzaker, Jenny Delport and Jackie Holdrick. Les John, Paul Els, Charlotte Kohl and Andy Jones got most bowls.

At TGIF the 100 board was won by the Damagers, Vee Burger was not present to win the attendance draw, and Toni Roberts tried to find the correct key on behalf of father-in-law Robbie, but was unsuccessful. Next week the attendance draw will be R600, and the key draw R8,860.

Remember that the mixed 2-4-2 is on Friday, 28 October, and Cherry Bell is on Saturday, 29 October.

The only member celebrating a birthday this week is Peter Labuschagne, so best wishes to him and to any members who are unwell.
