WINNERS of the 2016 mixed nominated pairs at Winklespruit Bowling Club were Steve Evenwel and Maureen Griffin with Alan Raubenheimer and Annalie Pienaar being the runners-up.
Marge Eriksen, Avril Smith and Pipa Hanel were overall winners of the women’s Victory Kwikspar trips played on Thursday, 6 October. Second session was won by Julie Sutherland, Amanda Ninow and Marie Van Der Walt. First session winners were Annalie Pienaar, Yvonne Hooper and Liz Mc Donald. Annalie Pienaar won the spider and Avril Smith won the 100 board.
Overall winners of the Clearwater Spur 2-4-2 played on Saturday were Eddie and Lou Lou Bingham. Freddy Hetterscheidt and Charlotte Kohl were second session winners. The 100 board was won by Cedric Kruger.
Errol Theron won the attendance draw on Friday evening. Due to him not being present it will be a carry over.
There was a good turn-out at the Friday evening meal and everyone enjoyed the delicious food prepared by Lynn Fitzsimmons and Yvonne Scott. The tasty pudding was prepared and donated by Elmarie Young. The club sincerely appreciates the preparation and donation of the meal and thanks members who served the meal.
There will be Saturday trips played this Saturday, 15 October with a bring and braai after the game. Pap and gravy will be supplied.
The green will be closed for annual maintenance as from Monday, 17 October, for between four and six weeks. All are welcome to enjoy the friendly atmosphere with fellow bowlers on Wednesday and Friday afternoons. Friday evening meals will still be available during the green closure period.
