ELAINE Critchlow is the senior women’s singles champion with Annalie Pienaar the runner-up for 2016.

The mixed nominated pairs final which would have been played on Saturday, 1 October between Annalie Pienaar and Alan Raubenheimer against Steve Evenwel and Maureen Griffen, was cancelled due to the rain.

Barry Hilton and George Cormack were the overall winners of the men’s 2-4-2 played on Thursday, 29 September. Second session was won by Brian Cox and Cedric Kruger. Les John was the winner of the 100 board.

Steve Evenwel won the attendance draw on Friday evening but as he was not present it will be a carry over.

A light-hearted atmosphere was overwhelming at the Friday evening meal. There was a good turn-out and everyone enjoyed the scrumptious food prepared by Trish Farmer. Sylveigh and Basil Ananiadis prepared and donated the lovely salad and Classina Powell prepared and donated the pudding, which was mouth-wateringly good, as normal. All members express heartfelt thanks for the preparation of the meal, salad and pudding as well as for the donation thereof.

The monthly boot sale took place on Saturday with the turn-out not being as expected due to the rain.

Please note the women’s twinkle trips will be played on Wednesday, 12 October.

The men’s Thursday trips will be played on Thursday, 13 October.

Social bowls will be played on Wednesday and Friday afternoon at 1.45pm for 2pm.

There will be a Friday evening meal and all those interested should indicate for catering reasons, before Friday on the list on the board or call Trish at 082-483-5875.

As the green will be closing for annual maintenance, members are asked to complete their club competitions by Friday, 14 October.

Congratulations to everyone celebrating their birthdays during the week and a speedy recovery to all who are not well.
