Bowling club carboot sale this weekend

The monthly boot sale will take place this Saturday, 1 October.

IN Winklespruit Bowling Club’s mixed nominated pairs semi final, Mike and Di Kruger beat Allan Duncan and Sylveigh Ananiadis.

Mike and Di Kruger were victors over Lou Lou Bingham and Freddy Hetterscheidt in the mixed nominated pairs final played on Friday.

The men’s 2-4-2 played on Thursday, 22 September produced overall winners in Owen Turner and Andy Soden. Second session was taken by Dennie Denysschen and Ken Leech. The 100 board winner was Dennie Denysschen.

Freddy Hetterscheidt won the attendance draw on Friday evening.

The Friday evening meal was a great success with good attendance and high spirits. Everyone enjoyed the delicious food donated by Piet and Annalie. Trish, Lou Lou and Lynn prepared and donated the pudding. The members thank them for the meal and pudding donated as well as for the preparation thereof.

Overall winners of Sunday’s mixed trips played on 25 September were Mike Kruger, Di Kruger and Trish Farmer. Second session winners were Eddie Bingham, Hazel Willis and Errol Theron. Cathy Du Plooy won the 100 board.

Night bowls was cancelled due to the weather. This will be played at a later date.

The monthly boot sale will take place this Saturday, 1 October.

Note the women’s Winkle trips will be played on Thursday, 6 October. Social bowls will be played on Wednesday and Friday afternoon, with the starting time at 1.45pm for 2pm.

There will be a meal this Friday evening. Indicate on the list on the board or call Trish at 082-483-5875 if you will be joining in the delicious meal and a friendly chat with fellow bowlers.

As prize-giving is to take place in a few weeks’ time, members are to complete their club competitions by Friday, 14 October.

Congratulations to everyone celebrating their birthdays during the week and a speedy recovery to all those who are not well. The club conveys its condolences to Piet Barnard’s family, friends and Drixie.
